We put a lot of value in the opinions of others. We must be very conscientious to assess everyone in our circle bc they have a lasting effect on who we are & what we do. The Bible puts it this way, “Bad company corrupts good character”. My father-in-law put it this way, “If you have 9 broke friends, you’ll be the 10th”.
We must pay keen attention to the conversation of the company we keep as well as their actions. Those who are close feed our eye gates & ear gates and they influence us more than we believe. Doubt starts as a seed and is most often planted by those who seemingly care.
Gathering opinions is only necessary for polls - not our dreams. When it comes to our dream, opinions mean far less than our purpose. We must assess all we hear according to what is sharpening us to pursue our purpose rather than distract us. We must make sure our circle is truly invested in us and not what they get access to thru us. And by all means never let someone who gave up on their dream talk us out of ours.
