Our strength as wives is solely about our willingness to grow. It’s not about getting our way or taking backboned stands. In fact, marriage is more about sacrifice than anything else. I saw this posted & of course it prompted me to share. Nothing has matured me more than marriage. Nothing. Personally, it has taken me farther than I wanted to go and has cost me way more than I ever wanted to pay. But I wouldn’t change a thing. My marriage is worth every ounce I’m giving to it. It’s worth fighting for on the worse bad day just as much as it is on the best good day. My marriage is worth growing for. My marriage is worth staying for. Watching the pain of separation up close & personal deepened my resolve for my marriage and birthed this club. I will say I know there are valid circumstances when dissolution may be the right answer but I personally have set out to make sure I do my part to avoid that action. I know it seems like I keep talking about the work needed in us as wives but it all begins there. I chuckled bc I know someone is like “C’mon Denise, when are you gonna talk about money, arguments & in laws...” I promise I will bc it’s all on the list. But at the end of the day, our journeys as wives is just as much a personal one as it is y’all two becoming one. News flash! Staying the way you are will continue to get you the same results you’ve been getting. We have to “do different” if we want “different results”. The difference begins with us being willing to grow, mature and love sacrificially. Those cute little marriage tips they told us at the shower danced around all the real work of marriage. Lol 😂 But know this - the odds ARE in your favor and you can win! Be open to allowing a change to birth in you for the sake of your marriage and
I guarantee you will see your marriage transform. Be the change you want to see. Be the change. Sow what you want to receive. And soon you will get it back. Don’t get weary in well doing. You will reap if you don’t faint. #firstwivesclub
