Imagine a scrawny 3rd grade kid trying to push up on a cute lil’ 2nd grade girl, like he’s the man! Yea ... that was Chuck, pulling his 3rd grade “Mack Moves” on little ‘ol me. He often chased me down the halls as I tried to get away.
To me, he was weird. But to him, I was rib.
I’ll never forget the day he chased me around Longfellow’s playground and made me drop my popsicle. Oooh I was so mad.
Or at the Salem Mall in 1988 when we met again. I kept walking away each time he came over. Then, finally I stopped and listened as he insisted I take his number and come to his party that night
Or how he’d chase alongside me every time in his car as I stomped the yard all the way from North Quad to South Quad on Miami University’s Campus, fuming about something
Or even now, how I outpace him walking around the Marina in Cabo San Lucas because my stride seems to be faster than his swag
I guess... I’m the coy one, often playing hard to get. Since Day 1, this brother has been chasing me down.
Promise Me, Baby... you’ll never give up your HOT PURSUIT of me because I promise I always, always, always love it when you catch me.
