Our life wisdom for today...
“In order to experience something new, you must break your preference for what's comfortable and familiar.”
This is where we get stuck in our comfort zone and not really challenge ourselves to move forward, to grow or to develop.
I want to encourage you to get unstuck.
Getting unstuck requires a mindset shift to begin moving forward. It requires us to believe in ourselves, in the possibility of who we are and in what we can accomplish. And that can be difficult… because we have daily experiences that often stress and overwhelm us. And those things can come on so heavy, making us think we are not capable of handling the things we must take care of.
We often have it coming from so many ways and as women, we have many roles and responsibilities. But I don't want us to settle into being comfortable because when we do, we begin to discount the possibility of what we can achieve.
Ahead of you are your best days, and to spring forth into them and experience all the goodness they hold, you must begin to break your preference for what's comfortable and familiar. The one thing about comfort, it's just like a good dish of comfort food… it feels good.
It feels comfortable. It feels like home. It feels reassuring.
As we begin to move forward in faith, it can feel uncertain.
My daughter has a T-shirt that she used to wear often. I would chuckle every time I saw it because the caption was so snazzy. It says, “Faith’s got me out here living risky.”
And while faith is not risky when it’s rooted in the Word of God, it does indeed look risky from the outside. And even more, it can feel risky if your belief is not fully planted on the solid rock. The solid rock is the cornerstone of your belief, the foundation of who you are – it should be the Word of God.
We've must begin to see ourselves the way God sees us and believe who God says we are.
My challenge is for us to rise and begin to put aside the desires to stay the same and instead go forward to become better.
Here's our affirmation:
I am determined, worthy, blessed, a force to be reckoned with. I am kind, fearless, creative, and I am destined for greatness.
That's the mindset we must begin to adapt as we move forward and truly become all God has called us to be.
You’re Good, Sis.
