11/26/2022 0 Comments Take care of who you are nowOur life wisdom for today... “Please take care of who you are now. You fought real hard to become you now and get here.” This is a great reminder to just slow down and take it all in. We often rush off to the next thing. We have a big list of to-dos. We overcome incredible experiences and just keep pressing. I want to remind you to slow down for a minute and just take it all in. Take care of who you are now. Are you focused on your needs? Not your family, not your husband, not your man, not your job, but your needs. One of the things I talk about a lot as I mentor women is the necessity to “take care of you” in the context of self-care. Many of us have relegated our self-care to taking care of our nails, our hair, and our toes. I want you to know that you are beautiful, and those exterior things do indeed need to be maintained, spruced up, and, of course, polished. But there is way more to you than your hair, your toes, and your nails. When you do a health check of yourself, I want you to begin to think about the whole you.
Taking care of who we are now means we cannot continue old habits. Old habits are less informed about how we have evolved. We must begin to look bigger & broader and anchor in on what we need based on who we are NOW. But here's the kicker and where many of us mess it up. We fail to prioritize our needs because we don't believe we deserve them. You fought hard to get where you are. You deserve to be here. You deserve the priority and attention of your own interest, and so here's my challenge for you: Lean into making yourself a priority simply because you deserve to be. You deserve to be your priority. Here is a closing prayer: Gracious Father, we come before you, and I thank you for my sister reading this now. I ask that you go right where she is and give her a loving embrace and allow her to feel your presence. Permeate that place with your goodness. Allow her to feel your love comforting her needs. You know every need that she has - whether it's physically in her body, emotionally in her heart, needs in her relationships, needs in her money, needs in her career - she has a lot of needs. But you can cover and meet them all in a very specific way. I thank you that we can call upon you and know that you care for us. Help us to embrace your goodness, and to believe that it is done. Amen. . . . . . . . . . . You’re Good, Sis. I'm the Good Thing is focused on helping women grow personally. Understanding our worth and value is the secret sauce to truly embracing our power.
