Wife Spotlights share their love story & love lessons.
Lived in the same neighborhood…we never ran into each other
Went to the same elementary school…we never sat in a class together. He was friends with my cousins…we were never introduced. He worked with another cousin…never met
I clubbed with his brother and other mutual friends…still we had no clue that each other even existed.
We had so many opportunities to meet, however, God knows best and He works in His own perfect timing.
Meet the Fifers, Rodney and Sharan from Milwaukee, WI. After dating for 14 years, we married on Feb 9, 2007 during a couple’s event at Jericho Church Without Walls. Unbeknownst to the others in attendance, a wedding was about to take place right before their eyes. During his message, our Pastor brought us up for what everyone thought was a sermon illustration. To their surprise, they were not only witnessing a wedding, but they were all participants in the ceremony. He creatively used them as our bridesmaids and groomsmen. It was a night to remember.
“He looked so nice, I married him twice.”
Three short months later, on May 5, 2007 we decided to do it again but this time in the presence of our family and friends. Yes, we now celebrate both dates.
Since this time, we’ve had many ups and downs, disappointments, and disagreements, but none of that outweighs the good times. It was through those difficult times that we learned some valuable lessons about ourselves and what is important to us.
Now, fifteen years later, we have a beautiful blended family with a total of 11 children and nine grandchildren. We wouldn’t change a thing about our journey. Well, maybe the numbers in our bank account.
